CPA wanted for Purpose Driven, Well-Paying Job with a Great Future
Unique CPA Career Opportunity - Tremendous Growth Potential - Outstanding Compensation – Remote Work Negotiable but Training Better in Person
The most interesting part of our work is developing “financial master plans” for clients with substantial IRAs and retirement plans (typically wealthier individuals with IRAs, etc. averaging $2-$10 million of net worth). Our CPAs “run the numbers” i.e., construct data driven financial projections and make life changing recommendations. We tend to attract smart nice clients, typically not business owners, who are a joy to work with.
If the client is interested in both our financial masterplan and an assets-under-management agreement, we recommend an appropriate money manager and share fees.
We believe that the best CPA candidate who will be effective in this role must have a deep understanding of tax concepts and be an accomplished 1040 income tax preparer. They also need a strong spreadsheet background. Preparing income taxes, particularly in the beginning, will be part of the job.
Furthermore, the candidate must be comfortable presenting the financial projections generated from different scenarios while the client is in the room (actual or virtual). Direct client contact is a critical component of the job. We believe the best candidate will be self-motivated, independent, flourish in a fast-paced work environment, and interact well with a supportive and energetic team.
We do not expect to find candidates who are able to run our sophisticated financial projections without significant training. Even the most skilled CPA candidate will still need one or two years with our team to be extremely effective in this role. But be assured, you will have excellent mentors to help you expand your horizons and it will likely be the most meaningful advanced training you have ever had.
If you are looking for an exciting opportunity with a company that has grown and thrived for over 30 years and want to work directly with a small group of intelligent and dedicated professionals, we want to meet you.
A Unique Opportunity to Work with Parents of a Child With a Disability
The owner of the firm, James Lange, has a daughter with a disability. By necessity, he had to figure out the best financial plan for his family. It had to protect his daughter’s financial future for the rest of her life and ensure that he and his wife had a comfortable retirement too. As a result of implementing the plan he developed, his daughter, using reasonable assumptions, will ultimately be better off by an extra $1.6 million in today’s dollars. Then, he realized that he needed to empower other parents in his situation by providing them with his roadmap to financial security.
He and his two amazing co-authors, including the former U.S. Commissioner of Disabilities under G.H.W. Bush, Deborah McFadden, wrote a 500-page book, Retire Secure for Parents of a Child with a Disability. (Deborah’s daughter, Tatyana McFadden, is a Paralympic champion athlete who will be competing in the Paralympic Games in Paris.)
We strongly believe our book is the best financial planning resource available for parents of a child with a disability. We recommend all serious candidates download the book, review the Table of Contents and read the chapters that interest you. You can download a complimentary PDF copy of the book by clicking here or by visiting https://paytaxeslater.com/articles/Retire-Secure-For-Parents-of-a-Child-with-a-Disability.pdf. We also highly recommend that you read about our process for preparing a financial masterplan, which you can find in the section that begins on page 449.
As a consequence of publishing and promoting our book and through our outreach to this community we anticipate a growing client base of parents of a child with a disability. The team feels we are doing more than helping rich people get richer. We are helping parents provide for their vulnerable child’s long-term financial security and helping the parents secure their own retirement. It is some of the most meaningful and rewarding work that any of us have ever done. The market is enormous, and we have a great toehold in this lucrative and fulfilling market.
